Herbert Hainer in BamS interview: "It was an incredibly intense year. In terms of football, we were as successful as never before and with many great moments, but also many challenges due to the pandemic. Overall, I think we've been doing well for the past 12 months"
You spoke about a loss in income of €100m last year. Will things get even worse?

Hainer: "The number you mentioned is correct and up to date. The €100m loss is primarily due to the lack of fans income. We will certainly not generate a profit in the current financial year"
Things are even worse for other top clubs. Are Bayern winners of this crisis?

Hainer: "We're leaders in economics even internationally. We have no debts, we own our stadium 100% and the campus is paid off. We are well positioned and will be stable going out of this crisis"
Rummenigge said that the club must keep Müller & Neuer in other roles after their active career.

Hainer: "Integrating successful ex players into the management is one of Bayern's secrets of success. Rummenigge & Hoeneß are best examples. That's also why we got Kahn as successor"
Hainer: "I don't know what Thomas Müller's plans are. Whether he wants to become a successful dressage rider or breeder at some point (laughs). But Müller and Neuer stand for FC Bayern par excellence. I would be happy if both of them were interested."
Which role do you play in the CEO transition from Rummenigge to Kahn?

Hainer: "With my 40 years of professional experience, I can help & advise Kahn. Oliver is looking for my advice too, we sit together and talk about many things. He's very open & inquisitive. I appreciate that"
Hainer on the Covid vaccine: "Personally, I'll get vaccinated immediately when my turn comes. But it's the individual decision of each person. I still believe that the vaccination is the only way to stop this pandemic at the moment"
Did Bayern consider not to play the CWC due to Covid?

Hainer: "No! The team and the coaches are really looking forward to the tournament and are determined to win the 6th title. Only Barcelona did that before. It was important that FIFA could present a reasonable hygiene concept
Hainer: "Since Hansi Flick took over in autumn 2019, we won everything there's to win. Now we lost two games, that can always happen. Hansi managed the situation professionally and repeatedly stresses that you have to work hard every day to stay at the top"
Must the new signings do better?

Hainer: "The task in the summer was to strengthen the squad in terms of depth, because the schedule is too tight. It's not easy to win a starting spot at Bayern, because ahead of you there's a treble winner. Overall we're well equipped"
Q: Will Hansi Flick remain Bayern coach next season?

Hainer: "He has a contract until 2023"

Q: That doesn't mean much.

Hainer: "Just assume that we value the work of Hansi Flick. We're very grateful to him for what he's done. He will lead us to the next titles"
Was there a conciliatory conversation between you and Alaba after the failed contract extension?

Hainer: I congratulated him by email for being named Austria's footballer of the year. I got a response within 15 minutes. He was happy. But we didn't talk about his contract anymore
Hainer on Alaba: "The mood is okay. You have to deal with the situation professionally. He and his agent had their ideas about the financial structure of a new contract. It's legitimate."
Is he (Alaba) going to Real Madrid?

Hainer: "As far as I know, that's not done yet"

Hasan Salihamidžić (before the game) on his relationship with Flick: "It's perfectly normal. The topic is perceived by you differently than by us. The fact that Lucas Hernández is back on the bench today is also a decision of the coach."
Salihamidžić on Tolisso: "What Coco did is of course annoying. That will have consequences. We talked to him, he knows he made a mistake. He'll have a fine that he will feel"
Salihamidžić: "Upamecano? We're of course thinking about the player. We met with his agents and had very good and professional talks. Now we have to see what happens"

Hansi Flick: "Both teams wanted to play football today, Manu made some good saves. We have now won four games in a row, got twelve points and played a good game today, even if not everything was great. I am satisfied" #FCBTSG
Flick: "The team got back on track after two defeats in a row. That's what distinguishes a great team."
Flick on Tolisso's tattoo: "Hasan said everything about that. This is an absolute no go for us. He is very sorry, it happened, it cannot be undone. I talked to him"

Bayern announce that Corentin Tolisso has been fined after breaching the club's Covid guidelines. In addition, the player will not be part of the training squad for this weekend.
Rummenigge: "We are very grateful that the Bundesliga games can currently take place despite the Corona situation. Players, coaches and staff members have to adhere to the rules of the DFL's hygiene concept in an exemplary manner."
KHR: "Corentin Tolisso has violated these guidelines, although our sporting management continuously and clearly communicated these guidelines internally. This violation is very annoying and cannot be tolerated."

Lucas Hernández being benched against Schalke despite his strong performance against Augsburg raised question marks within the club's leadership. Hernández remains in competition with Alphonso Davies for the left-back spot with David Alaba undisputed at CB [@Plettigoal, @SPORT1] Image
Davies, who is experiencing a drop in form this season, continues to enjoy the confidence of Flick. The latter wants to give Davies confidence and game time in order to get his form back, because in his top form, the Canadian represents the game Flick wants to see [@Plettigoal]
Hernández, whose mentality is hugely valued by Flick, played well vs Augsburg, but is too inconsistent in his performances & often reveals weaknesses in the build-up game. However, Lucas could get another chance v Hoffenheim after Davies failed to impress vs Schalke [@Plettigoal]
