This is what happened between me and @SethAbramson on Saturday. I don’t follow him but when he claimed he’d written the first look at women of the insurrection several people tagged me and alerted him that I’d written an article on women of insurrection on January 10 Tweet by Seth Abramson: New reports from the WSJ and ProPubl
He tweeted this to me and I thanked him and expected he would delete and rewrite his inaccurate tweet. Tweet from Seth: I apologize. I hadn’t seen this. I’ve a
He did not delete claim to have written the “first” look. If it wasn’t important, he wouldn’t have claimed it.Some of his fans wrote to me saying I was being “silly” to insist on saying I was first. Note they did not call his use of “first” silly. I and many asked him to delete
Nine hours after his tweet, and many requests from people who supported me, Seth finally deleted his inaccurate tweet and also deleted my name and link to my article on women of the insurrection
Seth also blocked me, his tweet apologizing, and many of those who supported me. Some of them have joked there are enough to start a club: The Seth Blocked Me for Supporting Mona Club
The work of Black and women of colour is too often ignored and erased. Instead of writing to tell him to write a more accurate tweet & not make false claims, some people wrote to tell me that Seth’s articles and mine are different and that “he’s a good guy” and I should let it go
The bar for men is so low that when we - especially Black and women of colour - reject their fuckery, we are told we are being silly/arrogant for saying “I did this first.”

Fuck that shit.

I am proud of my writing. Retweet & subscribe feministgiant.com
Things exist before white men “discover” them.

Some of us have been “first,” long before men got there.

Zero tolerance for patriarchal fuckery feministgiant.com/p/coming-soon
Thank you and love and solidarity to all who supported me ❤️✊🏽💜
Here’s my article on January 10. Notice, I did not need to make grandiose “first ever” claims

White Women Storm the Capitol:
The audacious innocence afforded to white womanhood
I am glad that more is being written about the women who joined the insurrection. For so long, US media skirted around the violence and dangerous white supremacy of the women of QAnon -
From Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert to suburban moms feministgiant.com/p/white-women-…
When U.S. media have taken deep dives into QAnon,it’s stunning how much fuckery white women get away with & for which they’re given so many excuses. QAnon provides a convenient disguise behind which white women channel far-right white supremacist fuckery into concern for children

I wasn’t paying attention at first, to be honest: to either my perimenopause or the pandemic. I wrote this about the ways they're both fucking me over. And I will write more about perimenopause. We need more words! feministgiant.com/p/essay-fallin…
Transformation is hard.

Learning to sit in the fear and chaos and learning to be friends, or at least to make eye contact, with that fear and chaos is terrifying and awesome; awesome as in 👇🏽 Text: adjective extremely ...
Except instead of “the awesome power of the atomic bomb,” it is instead the awesome power of the changing body, evolving from what was into what will become.

Understanding the macrocosm of the pandemic through the microcosm of perimenopause:

I’m a massive fan of profanity. We must recognize that the ubiquitous ways patriarchy socializes women to shrink themselves - physically and intellectually - extend also into language, into what we can and cannot say. feministgiant.com/p/essay-why-i-… #WhyISayFuck
At the heart of that policing, standing guard over our language like a baton ready to strike, is civility. Patriarchy reserves for itself the power to offend, the power to be obscene. (This Australian TV episode was banned from rebroadcast)
Patriarchy wastes no time in policing women’s mouths as vehemently as it does the genitals of anyone who not a cisgender heterosexual man. Profanity is an essential tool in disrupting patriarchy and its rules.

Fed up as I am with the consistent refusal to take seriously the danger of white women like Marjorie Taylor Greene, I suggest you forget the Bechdel Test & follow my If so-and-so was a Muslim Test: If Marjorie Taylor Greene was a Muslim she'd be in Gitmo feministgiant.com/p/if-marjorie-…
If the white women who stormed the Capitol were Muslim, they would have been called “fanatics” and “extremists,” and vilified for the violence they committed, not constantly remembered by loved ones as the best version of themselves. feministgiant.com/p/white-women-…
If Amy Coney Barrett was a Muslim, her zealotry would have been pathologized, not earn her a lifetime post on the highest court in the land. feministgiant.com/p/if-amy-coney…
