For radiocarbon dating to be possible, the material must once have been part of a living organism. This means that things like stone, metal and pottery cannot usually be directly dated by this means unless there is some organic material embedded or left as a residue.
So what living organism was part of the these Sumerian tablets that enabled them to be carbon dated?
This is rooted in the Bible myth of Noah’s family where Nimrod the son of Kush founded the kingdom of Shinar (Sumer/Mesopotamia). The logic is that since Mizraim (father of the Egyptians) is younger than Kush therefore Sumer is older than Kemet.
