Get this: The D.C. govt is required by law to deliver HARD COPIES of legislation BY HAND to the U.S. Capitol for review. But because of the new fencing around the Capitol, D.C. officials can't get in. That means these laws are basically stuck in legal limbo.
D.C. Council Chairman @ChmnMendelson says "We literally cannot deliver the legislation. ... It's this crazy home rule situation which would be avoided if we had statehood."
