New party chair @Manny_A_Diaz told us today that this week he is retroactively reinstating the party's insurance plan and paying claims that were denied in December and January

“The claims will be paid,” he said in an interview Monday afternoon. “Everyone will be paid.”
We talked to 8 current and former staffers who say they were blindsided when they found out they had no insurance through @FlaDems

Several said they learned from this Jan. 7 letter from Florida Blue, not their employer

It was sent more than a month after plan lapsed

Background: A dark money group spent millions putting this the facts in this story on TV and radio. Was a big early campaign hit against DeSantis.

There was a congressional ethics complaint pending when DeSantis left congress to focus on his gubernatorial bid. That ethics complaint, as all do, went away when he was no longer an active member of congress.

Gov. Rick Scott, in his role as Senate candidate, last night asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to investigate local election offices. FDLE said it would. On Friday, though, it found no allegations of voter fraud. There is no investigation

FDLE said they are standing by, but are aware of no voter fraud. That conclusion was reached after they talked to state election officials today.

Last night during his political event, Scott warned of potential "rampant [voter] fraud"

There appears to be none at the moment
A few things to keep in mind. No active fraud allegations now, do not mean there will be none later.

And FDLE did ask state election officials about this this. Those election officials are the ones who said they knew of no voter fraud allegations. That’s what changed today
