Was independence brought to Kenya by freedom fighters, or was it an illusion created by the British colonizer? A THREAD TO FREE YOUR MIND & OPEN YOUR EYES

The real factors that led to Kenya's "independence" were both economic and political. Allow us to indulge your curiosity for a bit 1/24
The economic reasons are rather obvious, especially when you consider that Kenya, just like the rest of colonized Africa, was created to be a raw materials extraction zone. Indeed, the Berlin Conference of 1885-6 was driven purely by commercial needs 2/24
Africa was to be used as a raw materials resource to fuel the booming industrialisation of Western Europe and their allies such us the US, Canada and Australia. 3/24
There was only one problem with this plan; Africa was inhabited by human beings, "inferior" in the eyes of the European colonizers 4/24
The European colonizers tried different ways of dealing with the 'Human Problem' in an effort to ensure the extraction of Africa's raw materials was done with few challenges 5/24
Christianity was a very popular 'Human Problem' solution provider in the first few decades of the 20th Century. It made the "natives" docile and willing to accept European superiority 6/24
After softening the "natives" with Christianity, the French opted for 'optics' - making the native believe he was privileged to be considered a citizen of the European nation (works to this day) 7/24
Our colonizer was more direct, he decided not to sugarcoat his vile intentions. He used brute force instead. Despite having superior military capability than the "native", old Johnnie realised this method of running his business wasn't cost effective 8/24
Ultimately, Johnnie boy figured out a much more frugal way of running his Kenya Ltd. branch. You have to give credit to the crafty bastards scheme;
9/24
If Mr. Johnnie could get "natives" to run the Kenya Ltd. extraction zone on his behalf, it would save him the expense of having to import British soldiers, administrators and weaponry from his homeland. This move would actually make Kenya Ltd. more profitable 10/24
So Johnnie came up with the brilliant idea of creating native, home-groomed, local #ProxyColonizers to represent his interests in Kenya Ltd. 11/24
These #ProxyColonizers would be cheaper, readily available, easy to manipulate and would easily be accepted by the "natives" (who were becoming increasingly hostile) because they looked exactly like them (the "natives") 12/24
Don't argue with us about Kenya being purely a commercial #ColonialExtractionZone read this recent report by @WarOnWant and then have a candid discussion with your matatu driver waronwant.org/sites/default/…
13/24
It is also worth noting that the global politics of the day, more so the Cold War, also influenced Johnnie's decision to come up with the idea of #ProxyColonizers
14/24
Johnnie not only needed more cash to fight Red Ivan, but needed a "moral high ground" advantage over the Russians and their rather appealing Communist system. The colonies created a paradox. A politico-economic oxymoron, if you like.
15/24
Old Johnnie boy couldn't claim the "moral high ground" against Ivan if he still had colonies. But he also couldn't exit the highly profitable Kenya Ltd. What to do old chap, what to do?
16/24
So, he quickly came up with an "exit plan" where it would appear that he had exited Kenya Ltd., while still running the company remotely.
17/24
Side Note: It is no surprise that the colonizers ruthlessly dealt with African leaders who did not tow to their Politico-Economic "exit plan".
18/24
African leaders who resisted to be #ProxyColonialists and/or leaned towards Ivan's Communism, or wanted to completely decolonize, were assassinated, overthrown or had their countries made ungovernable through armed civil war.
19/24
It is not a coincidence what happened to Kwame Nkurmah, Patrice Lumumba, Sylvanus Olympio, Felix Moumie et al. It is also not a coincidence that our Jomo Kenyatta was a darling of the British. He made a great #ProxyColonialist (did I just hear your brain click?)
20/24
It is also purely business for African leaders who resist to be #ProxyColonialists to be dealt with ruthlessly. In Kenya, our entire ruling political class are a creation of Johnnie's "Independence" exit plan. And they relish their role
21/24
If Kenya (Africa at large) is to free herself from her vicious poverty cycle, she needs to acknowledge that the 1885-86 Berlin Conference created #KenyaLtd - a #ExtractionEconomyModel meant purely for the benefit of colonizers (present and future).
22/24
It is this same colonial #ExtractionEconomyModel that the Chinese have used to exploit us. The Indians, Arabs and South Koreans have also figured out how to take advantage of this model. So have our local #ColonialProxyLeaders
23/24
MEMORIZE THIS: Kenya in its current Socio-Politico-Economic set up, will never free itself from poverty unless it breaks free from Johnnie's #ExtractionEconomyModel
We must #Decolonize & break away from this model. We must #RemodelAfrica4Africans
