Hey friends! A quick update on what to expect in the next few weeks from Art Blocks!
This Sunday Jan 7th we will see the birth of our Artist Playground. Here previously curated artists will get to deploy projects on their own with few restrictions. 👇
Artist Playground artworks are not part of the official Art Blocks curated collection, but from artists that have previously qualified as curated. This is more like a traditional platform where artists have more control of their own work and announce their own schedules, etc. 👇
You’ll see work from @jeffgdavis, @pxlqqq, @ge1doot, and maybe even DCA pop up in there! We are super excited for artists to have access to Art Blocks as a tool/platform and be able to have some fun with generative content. 👇
While it might not happen immediately, you’ll see @opensea eventually spin these non-curated projects into their own collections. So over time you will only see what’s considered to be the official/curated collection inside the Art Blocks storefront.👇
Then, about a week later, look for us to resume our curated schedule with some exciting new projects!!! 👇
Art Blocks has enjoyed an incredibly warm reception from both artist and collector community. As a result our drops are selling out quickly and we have a waiting list of over 100 artists looking to show their work on our platform! It’s simply amazing and we are so so humbled. 👇
Eventually we must allow content creators to deploy work on the platform without waiting 12+ months to participate as a curated drop. So look for more avenues to allow creators to use Art Blocks as the tool that it is meant to be for hosting generative content on Ethereum. 👇
Coming later will be the Art Blocks Factory which will be a much more open, non curated area for projects that are not interested in the curation process or do not qualify because of DeFi, longer editions, or other mechanics that preclude them from being considered for curated.👇
And over time we will launch Art Blocks Enterprise for people and platforms that want to operate under the Art Blocks technology but host their own servers and API, for a significantly reduced fee. Can’t wait to see “Powered by Art Blocks” badges on other platforms!👇
Lots coming to Art Blocks in the coming weeks!!! Thank you to all the artists, collectors, team members, curators, and advisors for the support. It’s been an amazing couple of months!
Much love from Marfa Texas!
Erick
