Our new analysis reveals that the extent of the revolving door between Whitehall intelligence, military and foreign office officials, on the one hand, and oil giants BP and Shell, on the other, is especially striking.

bit.ly/3oKGl6I
Senior oil (and mining) company executives sit on the boards of several government departments, including the Ministry of Defence and Foreign Office, shaping the country's policies.

bit.ly/3oKGl6I
Various defence secretaries and chiefs of the defence staff go on to work in the fossil fuels sector. bit.ly/3oKGl6I
Then look at the foreign secretaries and ministers who go on to profit from oil companies, some of which are not a millions miles removed from their previous public employment. bit.ly/3oKGl6I
Then there's the ambassadors. Again, the jobs they take up after leaving office can be very closely related to their previous public positions. bit.ly/3oKGl6I
All this revolving door is rubber-stamped by the British establishment via a Whitehall committee, ACOBA, which is chaired by a former minister and a current government special envoy. bit.ly/3oKGl6I

The Ministry of Defence has just told us that it has lifted its blacklisting of us.

The MOD has now said it “will deal with all outlets, including Declassified, with fairness and impartiality”.

See thread Image
The UK government has also formally responded to the Media Alert issued by the Council of Europe on our blacklisting.

The government told the COE: “The Ministry of Defence was wrong not to provide a comment” to Declassified UK.

The MOD’s lifting of our blacklisting follows the announcement by Defence Secretary Ben Wallace that he has ordered an “independent review”. The MOD told our lawyers @LeighDay_Law it was “wrong” not to give a comment to us and that “we apologise for this”. rb.gy/u9vwml

The UK's relationship with Saudi Arabia is one of the most under-analysed by the mainstream media, depriving the public of key knowledge about the UK's role in the world.

Check out Declassified's recent revelations in this thread.

We've revealed the UK military has a team of high-ranking soldiers embedded in the Saudi armed forces who are believed to be taking their orders from Saudi commanders.

This involves training the Saudis in “internal security”, paid for by the Saudi regime. rb.gy/mq4w2y Image
The UK has a secretive £2bn program it manages for the Saudi Arabian National Guard, which protects the ruling family and has been active in the war in Yemen. Sangcom employs ten times more people than the British government publicly admits. rb.gy/st1vxz Image
