This January, @VP Kamala Harris made history as the first woman,Black person,& Indian American VP.
Now, it's our responsibility to root out systemic biases that shut out Black women & other women of color from leadership roles in all of our institutions. tinyurl.com/y5he962f
We must not only celebrate Madam Vice president but also use this moment to push for a call to action.
In all segments of society, we have to redefine what leadership looks like, re-examine our power structures, reject double standards, & center WOC as the benchmark of progress.
This #Blackhistorymonth and beyond, policymakers must prioritize issues that disproportionately impact Black women & other women of color like the gender wage gap and maternal and infant mortality.
In order to actively dismantle the culture of power that shuts out Black women and girls, non-Black people must call out racist stereotypes & misogyny in all of its forms- whether it's at the White House, in the media, or at the dinner table.
