A quick story about bloodlust, QAnon and Facebook:
There's a picture going Facebook right now that refers to the 10 Days of Darkness.
Some Q people believe Trump is still in power and has been secretly executing the Deep State for the last 10 days in front of the White House.
The viral QAnon picture shows the new security fencing around the White House, then places a real picture of gallows that kinda-sorta look like the same infrastructure.
I'm not going to zoom in on the gallows, because that's a real hanging.
The QAnon people used a photo from a Kuwaiti execution in 2013.
They stole these images to claim this is the Deep State being hanged by Donald Trump's secret government in front of the White House, which has QAnon people ecstatic.
The bloodlust for these supposed broad daylight executions by QAnon people on Facebook is staggering. Some people disbelieve, others "love, love, love it!!!"
"I hope those are NOT test dummies hanging there."
QAnon is a political movement based on the imminent, public executions of political enemies. People are desperate for this day to come. It has broad support. Not denouncing and pretending it's not there has already had deadly consequences, and they want more.

Didn’t see much mainstream credentialed press covering this, so I’m at Grand Central. Definitely still hundreds here at this protest calling for a ceasefire.
A lot of people still inside Grand Central Terminal, cops saying the whole terminal is shut down, telling people to head up to 125th St to take the trains headed out of the city. Every entrance blocked off.
Not a ton of people dipping off from the outside. Occasional person will yell occasional pro-Israel (or just general frustration at shutting down the terminal) at the crowd, but it’s very calm right now, at least on the outside.
Yes, this video is about how dumb the Target controversy is, how much the people pushing it are actively lying to people, and how some mainstream outlets are eating it all up.
I'm on Bluesky at bencollins.bsky.social. When it fully launches, I'd bet it's going to just usurp this site. It works and it looks and feels like this one, which is all we ever asked.
Comes down to moderation, desktop experience, and reliability, but it feels like the answer.
Also, you can't measure vibes, but the Bluesky vibes... the Bluesky vibes are very good.
Once again, the vibes are not measurable, but you can feel it.
