During the month of Shravan, the Vata component of a person gets higher in proportion. During that period, a person must avoid food that increases the Vata component. For example, green leafy vegetable contain higher amounts of Vata in them. Why do we offer milk to lord Shiva
Thus a person is asked to avoid them during the rainy season (especially Shravan month) to avoid the ailments caused due to excess of Vata.
During the rainy season, the cattle also eat lots of green grass, and hence their milk is high in Vata and, in modern times, is succeptible
to viral infections. Hence, milk is considered harmful during the Shravan month. Thus Ayurved advices us against consuming milk during Shravan.
Hinduism says “Feed to others only what you can eat for yourself (Which means, do not offer to others what you will never consume),
always give the best to others and do welfare for all. Always take care of the poor and feed them the fresh and healthy food”-(From the Vedas).
Now if we feed the milk or green leafy vegetables, which is poison during the Shravan, then it’s a sin as it will cause them diseases.

It is also full of trees furnished with flowers and fruits, and with crops of diverse kinds and other wealth. And it is surrounded on all sides with the salt ocean. As a person can see his own face in a mirror, even so is the island called Sudarsana seen in the lunar disc.

What is 'Maya' in Hinduism? It's a question with no simple explanation, even though scholars have studied it for ages and identified texts talking about 'Maya' in ancient scriptures of Hinduism. During the period of Sri Krishna avatar of Lord Vishnu, Narada Muni was puzzled with Lord Vishnu and Narad Muni
the concept of 'Maya'. He was in deep thought on how Maya can influence humans and why it's considered very powerful. Unable to contain his curiosity, the sage presented his doubts to Lord Krishna, but the Lord simply smiled without any response. Narada left, not knowing
why Krishna refused to clear his doubts. Shri Krishna had some other plans to make Narada understand Maya.
Finally understanding Maya, Narada begged Krishna to take him away and swore only to pray and singing praises all his life to avoid getting stuck in illusion again.

Isn't it beautiful that toughest of calculations and hardest of concepts are given to us in the easiest of manners in the form of slokas/mantras to us by our ancestors!
According to modern calculation:
Average distance between the Sun and Earth =149 million kms = 92 million miles Image
However, the orbit of the Earth is not a perfect circle, but an ellipse. Sometimes the Earth is closer to the Sun and sometimes it is farther. Shortest distance between Sun and Earth (perihelion) = 91 million miles = 147 million kms (early January)
Longest distance between Sun and Earth (aphelion) = 94.5 million miles = 152 million kms (early July) yuga-sahasra-yojana para bhanu
leelyo tahi madhura phala janu.
Considering the Sun to be a sweet fruit, Hanuman jumped to swallow it.
Here the distance he travelled is mentioned
