SOIL REQUIREMENTS

Land preparation 🥕
Obtain a fine tilth and raise beds upto 40cm high from the ground to avoid water logging and leaching. Remove loose stones and make sure soil crusting does not occur to improve germination %

Crop management 🥕
Weeding has to be done earlier to minimize nutrient wastage.During the rainy season fungicides needs to be rotated to avoid blight (Alteneria)
Standard population should be around 900 000 to 1.5million per ha to achieve good sizes, thinning is also important

Water management
mulch is the best starter pack. carrots are most sensitive to moisture stress during root enlargement and seed germination. Also avoid over irrigation which comes with a lot of forking and deformed shape. In its root nature it can grow downwards
