lol “among other issues” is doing a ton of work for an article not mentioning Easterby and his outsized role in the team.

Nobody trusts the owner. Or Easterby. Or Caserio for being Easterby’s pal. Their words/actions seem amateur, inauthentic and not grounded in reality.
Hiring a random selection of nice and diverse candidates of varied ability does not fix the rightful and deep lack of trust in the Houston Texans leadership for being incompetent career wasters who value inauthentic catch phrases, blind positivity, and pals over performance.
I’d like nothing more than Watson to believe in the Texans direction, be all in. But who, other than the most delusional, think the team has a healthy power structure, good football direction?

Most of the words/actions taken since the Caserio hire have been counterproductive.
One bad thing about the Watson issue is the goofy speculation that happens because the #Texans refuse to directly address things, like the SI allegations.

No need for that. The open and obvious info does not earn confidence. Cal McNair cares about Easterby over over everyone.
Yep:
1. Caserio presser fully endorsed Easterby, says he won’t be over personnel as though that solves the issue of cultural distrust and more
2. After the backlash of the hire and Easterby staying, McNair said sorry not sorry and he’s staying.
3. So yep
Caserio has pluses and minuses like any GM. His minuses so far have been:
* Keeping Easterby
* Not reading the room on how tired NE bromides with Belichick fall flat here, seemed overly positive
* Hodgepodge coaching hires
* Firing some competent staff
I saw the tweet from @TheFreddyD. Well, I do not want to speculate. He is a personnel guy who likes certain types of players. He isn’t a politician by most accounts.

The roster issues are hard enough without meddling owners and Easterby Houston history
