Here's a personal ex of this model. I was discussing with my students abt Mumbai's infra where we also happened to discuss Aarey Metro Shed. That's when I realized how they manage to tamper ones thinking power.
Some of my students were absolutely agitated with the metro shed coming up in Aarey. I then started asking them a couple of questions:
🔹Do you know who is running the No Metro Shed in Aarey campaign? No ans
🔹Do you know how much land has been given away to builders? No ans
🔹Do you know who is running the No Metro Shed in Aarey campaign? No ans

🔹Do you know how much this delay is costing us (tax payers money) per day? No ans
🔹Do you know how many deaths occur due to overflowing locals each day? No ans
🔹Do you know how much pollution is this metro going to help curb? No ans

I thn asked hw did you form yr opinion. The ans I received made me realize how a few photo-ops & celebs can damage brain cells

They said, why build infra by harming the environment. I asked them, you think the land you are living on was empty for you to build a building? Was it waiting for the builder? To save trees here apparently, you are ok with incessant pollution being added by the private vehicles
Or to save trees you are ok with people falling on railway tracks & dying?
I requested them to look at every problem with a 360° perspective & then form opinions. In the end I was slammed by some students for being a Modi Bhakt 😖
