Trump lawyers want to claim that others used inciting words so he shouldn’t be held accountable for inciting an insurrection. As house managers explain Whataboutism is not a defense:

Donald Trump planned the “wild” event, he prevented appropriate security, he told them to “fight like hell” & sent them to the Capitol. They received the message.

Donald Trump spent months planning the January 6 telling his followers lies about election fraud & encouraging them to “fight” for him. He tweeted about a big protest in D.C. that would be “wild” not peaceful.


On social media there was chatter of planned violence & officials warned of the danger of the rally during certification. Donald Trump prevented appropriate security & crowd control for his Jan. 6 rally that led to the storming of the Capitol & people dying.

Donald Trump gave a rally speech, attacked democracy & elected officials, spouted lies about the election. Said “If you don’t fight like hell you are not going to have a country anymore” & told the audience to March to the Capitol with no crowd control

Donald Trump & his campaign started grooming his supporters for violence when they realized they were down in the polls. He brought the “Trump Army” to attack our Capitol on January 6

Donald Trump was not planning a peaceful rally. Trump campaign & dark money groups invested in getting as many people to Washington as possible for a “Wild” protest. People came to be “Wild”

Our nation’s leaders were in serious danger. Trump did nothing to stop the insurrection. Pence, McConnell, Pelosi, & Schumer had to scramble to get reinforcements while Trump hampered the National Gaurd & told the insurrectionists he loved them.

Donald Trump promoted the Big Lie & when his Constitutional options made it clear he lost the election he incited urgency in his violent supporters

They were doing what Donald Trump told them to do:

Donald Trump started the incitement early by declaring a rigged election before anyone had even voted & making it clear he would not honor a peaceful transfer of power.

Donald Trump refused to concede & honor a peaceful transfer of power. He sold the Big Lie. He set the stage for violence.

The simple fact that Donald Trump refused to honor a peaceful transfer of power when he lost all his court cases is clear evidence that he incited the violence

Donald Trump was very aware of the potential violence & he used his power to make sure insurrectionists had a clear path to storm the Capitol

Incitement began months before with the words & actions of Donald Trump in this thread & culminated on January 6 as planned.

Donald Trump refused to honor a peaceful transfer of power promoted the Big Lie & he unleashed his supporters on the Capitol.

Let’s not forget that Donald Trump’s incitement of the insurrection was magnified by his personal lawyer.

After months of inciting them Donald Trump told them to go to the Capitol & they heard him loud and clear.

This is Mike Pence & his family fleeing the insurrectionists who constructed gallows outside & chanted “Hang Mike Pence”.
Meanwhile Donald Trump did nothing to call in the National Guard & told them they were special & he loved them.

“He got what he incited and according to Donald Trump we got what we deserved”

Trump emboldened insurrectionists who took the Michigan Capitol & never condemned them priming them for armed insurrection on his behalf.

Can anyone really claim that Donald Trump did not incite violence? His words for four years matter to what happened on January 6

Trump praised the violence of his supporters for four years. It was clear that having a rally on a day with the House & Senate in the building with minimal security & the Donald Trump speaking there it could be unleashed on the Capitol

The armed insurrection in Michigan & planned kidnapping of the Governor was a dress rehearsal for Donald Trump’s January 6 rally & he embolden the tactics.

Armed insurrectionists broke into the Michigan Capitol & terrorized Gretchen Whitmer. There were violent detailed plans to Kidnap her & Trump continues to rile up his supporters.
