There have been 106,125,682 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 2,320,497 deaths, reported to WHO.
he total number of tests processed by laboratories to date is 1,567,952.

On Tuesday our laboratories processed 2,845 tests.
The seven-day rolling average up to yesterday is 3,750 tests processed.
None of these cases are connected to the managed isolation facility at the Pullman Hotel.

One previously reported case has been reclassified as under investigation.
Recovered cases

The 10 recovered cases to report today includes the previously reported border-related cases B, C and the case we reported on Saturday who was later deemed a historical case.

Case D is the only active case from this group and remains in a quarantine facility.
Historical cases

From this week our updates are including a running total of historical cases to date for 2021.
This is because there is an increasing number of people becoming infected and recovering before travelling to New Zealand.
Our testing may detect residual viral material in people's systems, but it's important to reiterate they are no longer considered to be infectious.
As we've previously stated, an increase in historical cases is not unexpected.

Since January 1, there have been 25 historical cases, out of a total of 158 cases. These historical cases have all been previously reported.
NZ COVID Tracer

NZ COVID Tracer now has 2,562,034 registered users.
Poster scans have reached 175,268,314. More than 603,000 poster scans have been recorded since midday yesterday.

Users have created 7,159,165 manual diary entries.

Just a reminder about kindness and respect. It is never someone’s fault if they contract COVID-19. It is a tricky virus and it could be any one of us who tests positive.
People should be applauded for following health advice and staying home if asked to – they are keeping others safe. Be kind – it has and will continue to serve us well as a country.
