2/ @POTUS @JerryDyerFresno @SoniaMDLR @fresnoland I do NOT want Fresno, CA families, especially those with children, to go thru the trauma that I've been through as homeless person. I'm too young for 62 yr old housing and too healthy for transitional housing, as no drugs/alcohol.
3/ @POTUS Many disabled people, including those receiving Social Security disability, sleep in their vehicles in Fresno, CA. Not enough affordable housing, & existing programs take a whopping 1/3rd of their tiny checks. They've other monthly expenses. -Michaela

Clients required to go to meetings every 2 wks with case manager. Case closed for housing if appts missed, including due to transportation prob.-Michaela

2/ @PressedTinP My plans were derailed by sick, hospital, inability to work, spending thru savings, long app for affordable housing. I became homeless. I'm Fresno, CA's free auditor. I've been thru homeless services. Eye opening. Scary. -Michaela

3/ @PressedTinP I sleep in my car, as do many others who've been sick. Used to the @MidPenHousing apts to stabilize vulnerable people where I lived and worked in Santa Clara County, I'm committed to those concepts in Fresno, CA. I participate in Zoom housing meetings.-Michaela

@Ahab_Of_Gilead @jorymicah Former CA gov @JerryBrownGov pushed for a high-speed train to be built. Voters approved $10 bil on ballot. Train now $90 bil over budget, not done, expected to top $200 bil.
@Ahab_Of_Gilead @jorymicah @JerryBrownGov Do you know how much housing and medical care $10 billion could have bought? $100 billion? $200 billion? It's so offensive to me that first world problems & a big legacy project were addressed, not homeless human beings, the sick. We have wifi, computers, zoom etc.
@Ahab_Of_Gilead @jorymicah @JerryBrownGov We DON'T need that high-speed rail in CA! People here are $1 billion behind in their water bills, due to Covid job losses. Special orders, for public health exist, to keep water on in their homes. It's not just conservatives who blow money. Plenty of liberals do so as well.

2/ I, along with many other people who've been sick am wait-listed for a gov apt. 2.5 yrs so far. I've met many homeless veterans, women & men, on Social Security disability who are wait-listed for VA housing. -Michaela

@JerryDyerFresno 9/ The staffs and management at Naomi House for women, the homeless shelter @PoverelloHouse were incredibly abusive. They constantly threatened vulnerable, mostly mentally ill women, with the sts for "disobeying" some new made-up rule(s). What jerks! -Michaela cc: @SoniaMDLR

2/ Yesterday afternoon I watched a homeless mentally ill man be a brat and steal AND break two huge, expensive windows there at Blackstone & Sierra. He DOES know the difference btwn right & wrong. His SELFISH conduct carries the stigma of the mentally ill.
3/ I was an award-winning paralegal in college. I worked for top Silicon Vly law firms. In my application for a gov studio apt and disability, I became homeless. I am not a substance abuser nor do I have a criminal history. I am 58. -Michaela
