Bruno Cua’s family already has him lined up with a DC attorney at a white collar firm with a campus disciplinary practice. The father getting his own lawyer... is an interesting development.
Other large adult sons charged in connection with the Capitol attack were accompanied by their parents. While there’s no paperwork at the moment alleging 18-year-old Cua went to DC with the fam, that’s certainly what this development suggests.
This large adult son, for example, entered the Capitol building against his dad’s advice. They went to the insurrection to celebrate Chance’s birthday. Now they’re both facing charges.
And, in true helicopter parent fashion, they were present for his FBI interview (although letting that non-custodial interview move forward was a pretty questionable helicopter parent move).
As a reminder: here’s how some of the residents of one of the wealthiest cities in Georgia responded to Bruno Cua being arrested after he was caught on video assaulting a federal officer during a deadly attack on the United States Capitol.
Feds say that Adam Honeycutt changed his Facebook photo from an image of him with the Capitol in the background to a photo of him with a young child and seemed to be "attempting to downplay or hide his involvement.”
Referring to @RonanFarrow, judge in “Bullhorn Lady” case wonders why Rachel Powell would speaker with a journalist, “No matter how charming that reporter might be.”
Attorney for Powell said there’s no indication she’d ever been to the Capitol before Jan. 6. There’s also some discussion about a potential mask mandate if she is released pre-trial.
