Last September I moved into a beautiful loft in Austin with 5 friends. We podded there for 3 months co-working and enjoying the property. I spent a lot of time admiring the host's very eclectic style. Here are a few things I especially appreciated!
The main room is an open layout living and dining space. It is very airy, so suspended lights can be used to create a perceived lower ceiling. The track lights here is a great example. With lights, the couch area feels intimate. Without, it would feel a tad too exposed.
Our host had so many wonderful knick knacks and artifacts from travels scattered all over the house. There were definitely still little treasures undiscovered when we left.
I would never have expected orange as the primary color of any room to work... but this house rocked it in the bathrooms.
Lastly is my absolute FAVORITE part of the house. The indoor/outdoor room we dubbed "the meditation room" for the peace and serenity it invited.
Imagine sitting on the swinging chairs at night, fire blazing, flickers of light shining on the Buddha statue from Bali, soft Moroccan music playing, with a gentle wind and the sound of crickets in the distance...
