I truly believed - even as late as Tuesday - the @SenateGOP would treat this impeachment trial with the gravity and respect it deserves. A sitting president attacked our democracy. People died. The GOP could act like adults, and still go pure partisan & retain credibility.../1

...incitement.” That would be dishonest, but at least it would acknowledge what happened here was important and, if found to have incited, would have constituted an impeachable act. But no, they are just saying any president can launch a months long attack on an election..../2
...through lies, inspiring a coup attempt, and it is a punishment-free zone. GOP has successfully locked down the asshole vote (if they didn’t have it all already) by acting like jerks in this trial, showing themselves unfit betrayers of the Constitution who disrespect the dead.
