Luvuyo Bono to go over the investigation into the leak of the Maths & Science papers @mailandguardian
BREAKING: Bono says the investigation report has found that the 2020 exam was not compromised @mailandguardian
The investigation has revealed that the leaks was not widespread even though it was shared on whatsapp @mailandguardian
(This sort of sets the tone of what can be expected out of Umalusi's briefing tomorrow if the exam has not been compromised bcos of the leaks) @mailandguardian
Hugh Amoore who was part of the investigation task team is going through the process followed to investigate the leaks @mailandguardian
Amoore says the Maths paper 2 was circulated in whatsapp groups to 236 candidates across the country.
For the Physical Science paper 2 the learners were sent screenshots on whatsapp groups & reached 62 candidates @mailandguardian
Amoore says they also did investigative marking & that process uncovered that the scores of some of the learners in the whatsapp groups were higher than expected for Maths paper @mailandguardian
Amoore says however there was no suggestion that the candidates benefitted from prior access of the question paper. @mailandguardian
Amoore says the statistical analysis has shown that there has been no unusual pattern of performance in the 2 subjects as a result of the leaks @mailandguardian
Amoore says the investigation did not uncover widespread of the leaks & therefore the exam was not compromised at all. @mailandguardian
Amoore recommendations are that some of the learners their results will be blocked following further investigation @mailandguardian
