During our @FultonCoSchools #AdventureAwaitsFEC conference on Monday, the keynote speaker @sparvell talked about Social Emotional Learning. As he was talking, all I could think about was how well #MinecraftEdu fits into the SEL model.

Self-Awareness - Recognizing strengths, Sense of self-confidence
Self-Management - Self-discipline, Perseverance, Organizational skills, Goal-setting
Social Awareness - Empathy, Appreciating diversity, Respect for others

Relationship Skills - Communication, Social Engagement, Working cooperatively, Resolving conflicts, Helping/Seeking help
Responsible Decision Making - Identifying problems, Analyzing situations, Solving problems, Evaluating, Reflecting, Ethical responsibility

EVERY SINGLE ONE of those skills that I have just mentioned is used while creating in @PlayCraftLearn
So... when I am asked why kids should use #MinecraftEdu in school, my answer is simple. Why not?

Do you want students to be engaged in their learning?
Do you want to prepare students for the future?
Parents who are worried that their child may get too caught up in the game... until I explain the benefits.
I hope you will open your mind and let the learning begin!
