Last night, the South Australian Parliament voted to murder Flinders Chase National Park – the jewel in the crown of #kangarooisland – by granting open slather to private developers.
The Liberal Government, supported by SA-Best and Advance SA (all former Xenophon MPs), voted to allow tourism development valued at over $1 million inside the National Park, WITHOUT planning consent, WITHOUT any consultation and
WITHOUT any control on the clearing of vegetation for buildings, roads, tracks, fire-breaks etc by the Native Vegetation Council.
The latest renaming of the department put enormous effort into choosing its preposition – ‘of’ or ‘for’. OOOH let’s go for ‘for’! Since then they have in the main acted AGAINST our precious environment. All for filthy lucre.
