1.Thread addressing @ManhattanDA timing issues.
W/ certainty, there will be criminal charges arising out of the investigation against Trump, Trump Org, et al. The formal appointment of Pomerantz is a very significant event. Unclear is the timing & at what stage he is coming in.

2. Pomerantz was reportedly providing informal counsel prior to his recent swearing in so he is not coming in cold. There's also the issue of whether a ruling from SCOTUS is needed before at least some charges can be filed. I believe Vance's office has voluminous evidence already

3. There is a possible statute of limitations problem as to at least some of the charges though there is a continuing criminal activity tolling of the SOL that could also apply. That being said, there is pressure to proceed very soon.

4. Another twist is that this is likely Vance's final year as DA. He is up for reelection with Dem primary this June but he has done 0 campaigning/fund raising. He seems ready to retire by the end of this year but he wants to bring the Trump case soon w/out political distraction.

5. I continue to believe that this investigation is not the only game in town as far as NY is concerned. Do not be surprised if the civil case brought by @TishJames @NewYorkStateAG goes criminal. She is committed to doing justice & a criminal prosecution is often the best way

6. I am convinced that Trump, et al will also face serious federal charges from the SDNY. We will not know about this until it actually happens but do not be surprised when it does, with close coordination with the other prosecutions.

7. My guess: the 1st charges will be filed against Trump sometime w/in next 100 days, possibly sooner. Once the 1st charges are filed, expect a succession of add'l charges by other offices/jurisdictions. Trump will be arrested/processed like the career criminal that he is.

8. Trump's political power will greatly deteriorate as he has to deal with the criminal justice system as a defendant. Being arrested, photographed for a mug shot & fingerprinted will go a long ways to destroying the hold Trump has over many of his deranged supporters. The end.
