The next time you're wondering if your city should spend money on police to do "Homeless Outreach," just know that it's a lie. They just want money to do what they do, which is to harass, criminalize, and murder people of color.
It's not clear whether the man who is killed here is a person experiencing homelessness. What is clear is that these deputies deliberately and intentionally targeted him for harassment, and tried to initiate an arrest for a ticket-able offense. This is terrorism.
All of these departments are the same. They can call themselves different things if they want, but whether they are "school police," "homeless outreach police," or whatever-police, you aren't getting specialized pros. You are getting narcissist bullies with a license to kill.
DEFUND. THE. POLICE. Get them out of homeless services, our of schools, out of poor/vulnerable neighborhoods.
Also, as someone who has watched too many of these videos, it SUCKS that the police get to curate and narrate these videos like they're making a damn documentary. Give all of the footage to the public and let us sort through it.

The reason this is important is because what we were all left with is different, and none of it is anyone's fault. So for some who were gently and graciously given a version of faith that needed some renovation, some tearing down, but there was a good foundation, it's easy for...
...them to look at people whose faith was actually rotten all the way to the core, full of abuse and trauma and having to do with Love, and critique them for deconstructing "too far." (And frankly, a lot of times these mistake their foundation for not being rotten when it...
