The far-right Edmonton anti-mask rally is going to begin in about an hour so I thought I would do what I can to update people as to what is happening. First, this is the kind of disinformation they are sharing (from a post on Dawid oFB profile). 1/
Misty is closely aligned with Artur Pawloswki and Brad Carrigan who organized the rally today. 2/
Aside from Derek Storie spending time watching cars pass in Leduc and Steven Lane posturing, not much has happened recently. I have learned that Robert Lupkoski was arrested twice yesterday so that was fun. 14/
Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson is one of the features speakers. Here is what she posted an hour ago. 15/
And here are the comments by her supporters that resulted from her post. 16/
Well Kevin Johnston is filming (he is also a speaker) and of course he is preemptively attacking the media for the coverage claiming that it is slander. 24/
About 20 minutes prior to Dawid's arrested, Johnston posted this which, given the events that took place later, is sort of ironic. 35/
Johnston, who thinks the counterprotesters are irrelevant, seems preoccupied by the counterprotesters. 36/
He also thinks that municipal governments are able to change the education system. 37/
Okay I've got the clips of when Dawid was arrested. It occurred while Johnston was telling someone he would be giving seminars on how to sue people... fyi, I wouldn't take that advice if I was paid to do so. 38/
Pat King provides his $0.02. 38/
And we have the rabble screaming how unfair it is that one of them was arrested. 39/
As an aside, I wish Johnston could learn the difference between portrait and landscape. 40/
A few more clips of the aftermath of the arrest. 41/
42/
Johnston believes the arrest of Dawid, who is running for Calgary City Council, guarantee's Dawid's election because arrest + something something = winning! 43/
And here is Artur, Dawid's brother, being perfectly reasonable and not engaging in histrionics at all. 44/
Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson says because she was born in Africa that she is Black, "on the inside".
That's it. That's the tweet. 45/
And also, All Lives Matter.
But no, no racism. /sarc 46/
Pat King claims there was nothing racist about today's event. 46/
In Johnston's speech (most of which was self-serving and had nothing even to do with the ostensible reason for the rally) he repeats the slander that resulted in a $2.5 million judgement against him. 52/
He also tells people the pandemic isn't real and urges them to get closer to each other. 53/
Here once again is a link to the story about that judgement. 54/
During the torch march, Johnston demonstrates that he doesn't understand science and modern transportation. 56/
The last part in which Johnston speaks is interesting in that it tells us more about him. For example, he seems to really think he'll be mayor and he promises to use his power vindictively. 57/
He refers to Mayor Nenshi as hating white people in Calgary which Johnston describes as a "white town" 58/
Most interesting, in defending the Plaid Army and the Proud Boys, he promises, as Calgary mayor, he would create a militia. 59/
As I've been at this for pretty much the entire day, I'm going to take a break. 62/
So this is the chant that Brad Carrigan had the torch marchers repeat. 63/
Artur claims they had a "deal" with the police he seems to suggest was broken. States his brother might press charges against the police and that "the people" need to sue police, politicians, and health officials. 64/
Laura-Lynn Tyler Thompson mentions Kelowna, BC as the location for an upcoming rally in which Artur and Kevin Johnston will be present. 65/
Artur urging people not to get information from the media which he claims is controlled by the government and compares it to Joseph Goebbels but like the communists only worse because, you know, why not mix distinct totalitarian ideologies? 66/
Still going on about his brother, Artur talks to Dawid's wife and claims Dawid as a hero of the movement.
They have a low bar for heroism is seems. 67/
Artur announces his brother was released, then they participate in a weak group shout that is describes as "awesome".
Spoiler: it was not, indeed, awesome. 68/
I'll end this thread with some posts by Urban Infidel leader Steven Lane who, as you will all see, is a high quality human being. 69/

Joshua Switzer-Crowe who goes by The Angry Albertan has been holding his own anti-lockdown rallies at the leg. Today he posted a video cancelling their scheduled rally tomorrow and urging people not to attend the Tiki torch rally on Saturday. 2/10
I include a few clips, the first one noting the problem with deciding to tie your march with associated imagery to a racist rally in which a woman was murdered. 3/10
Tomorrow a group of right-wing extremists are planning on holding a rally on the grounds of the Alberta Legislature. At this point we aren't sure how many will ultimately show up, but it will include people from hate groups such as the Urban Infidels. 1/15
Lane is the founder of the Urban Infidels has said he will be attending and seems especially excited about the Charlottesville imagery as seen on some of the promotional material. 2/15
However there might just be a tiny fly in the ointment. 3/15
Yesterday @EdmontonAgainst tweeted a clip of a @CalgaryPolice officer interacting in what appears to have been a deferential manner towards Brad Carrigan. 1/16
Carrigan is one of the individuals planning a rally at the Edmonton Leg on February 20 along with Calgary street preacher Artur Pawlowski. The imagery on the promotional material includes a torch march from the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville (August 2017) 2/16
That is the rally in which a woman was murdered and several others injured when a car driven by a right-wing extremist rammed into the crowd. 3/16
Rick Boswick also appeared to document the event. Yesterday he was very excited in his videos prior to seeing the turnout. It is telling he doesn't appear to have shared any of his videos of the event on FB yet. 3/12
So a marginally employed (by choice it would appear) conspiracy theory adherent suggesting the COVID vaccine will kill people is totally normal right? 1/7
Also totally normal? When the mayor of a village in Saskatchewan, albeit one who barely got more than 30 out of 56 votes... 2/7
...who comment on Wayne's post suggesting mass executions of politicians? Medical professionals? 3/7
Meet Artur Pawlowski (here with Rob Anders). If you are unfamiliar with the name, he is a far-right preacher in Calgary who is associated with groups like the Soldiers of Odin, Northern Guard, III%ers and Worldwide Coalition Against Islam among others. 1/21
Here are a few examples from the blog that feature Artur:
