ALL #Heartstopper CASTING SUBMISSIONS SENT BY 6PM ON FRIDAY 19th HAVE BEEN PROCESSED
If you’ve been successful you will have been sent self tape info last night/today.
Could we kindly ask that there are no more calls to the office or email requests......See the following

Of course we would have loved to have offered every person who applied an audition, but that would never have been possible or practical & it’s not how casting works sadly
WHY? ...Time mostly ! We have received over 10,000 submissions in 5 weeks!!!!!!! 🌈 TEN THOUSAND!!!!

By the way we didn’t put that notice on TikTok, we would never have put a casting call out on a huge social media platform 24hrs before the deadline!!! 3000 of you applied from Thursday 😳

SO if we saw every single person who applied, this is what would have happened..

10,000 applicants
Each successful submission takes approx 20-30 mins to process, read email, contact performer, answer queries, send self tape info, get self tape,edit,review again, present strongest to creative team, that’s approx 200,000 minutes, 3,333hrs, 138 (24hr) days 😮🤯

WHAT WERE OUR PROCESSES OF ELIMINATION?
-you had to be 16+ (thousands of you weren’t )
-on the other side realistically someone in their mid 30’s cant often play a 15yr old on screen 🤷🏽‍♂️😬 ...that is very very rare

-hadn’t read the casting brief properly
-no mention of the very heart & soul of the show, the LGBTQIA+ community
-no mention of your name or anything about you or attached a photo, just one line “I wanna be in your show “ 😬
-you weren’t actually avail for the shooting dates!!!

We work hard to make sure actors (especially young actors) have a positive experience when they audition for an open call project.
We can’t audition everyone sadly casting directors rarely have the luxury of time ⏱ & most importantly the show has to start shooting at some point!

We know how disappointing it is not to get an audition & even more so if you were asked to self tape & then you didn’t get a call back.
We would ask that you use this experience (especially if it is your first) in a positive way (we know that’s easier said than done ) but.....

EVERY audition, EVERY application , EVERY time you find the confidence to put yourself up for something, look at how incredibly brave that is & use the experience (even if it doesn’t result in an audition or a job) as a learning tool.....

An acting career is a long game, you have plenty of time to perfect your skill, to grow your confidence.
Do not give up hope, read everything 📕watch everything 🎞 be inspired & get match fit 💪🏽ready for the next opportunity whatever & wherever that may be....

WHAT HAPPENING IN OUR OFFICE
Due to GDPR we can’t hold contact details for very long, I’m afraid all applications received after 6pm yesterday will be deleted (harsh I know) but the law.
We will keep all emails for a short period of time for those we are reviewing & recalling

We ask very politely, please don’t call the office, please refrain from sending multiple emails & social media DM’s pressuring us for an audition
Due to the huge influx not all of you received the promised automated email reply, that does not mean we didn’t receive your email.

ALL SUBMISSIONS HAVE NOW BEEN PROCESSED & YOU HAVE BEEN CONTACTED IF WE ARE TAKING YOU FURTHER
