SFUSD’s unwavering priority is to provide all students who wish to attend in-person instruction.
Our goal is as many days per week and as many hours per day of instruction as possible.
The following visuals are a great description of the possibilities and potential options.
Identified groups who will have instruction everyday.
Schools that have less students opting for a return to in-person.
For schools who have more students opting in, below is an opportunity to maximize in-person as much as possible. AND ideas for other spaces to open up are coming.
And of course, distance learning will remain an option for families who want to continue.

I want to make sure as many people as possible can see my statement about the board’s focus on reopening our schools.
To summarize, I am committed to focusing the board’s attention on getting our students back into the classroom. I’m committed to making sure every student and family at SFUSD is supported through this process.
I also acknowledge and take responsibility for mistakes made in the building renaming process. We need to slow down and provide more opportunities for community input - that cannot happen until AFTER our schools are back in person.
