@Marinelivesorg @wikidata @pkmarmor Yes (apparently). The item for dataset wikidata.org/wiki/Q1172284 says it's maintained by wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:… which has a page wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:…
@Marinelivesorg @wikidata @pkmarmor The wilkiproject also gives this, which is some sensible advice on importing
wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:…
@Marinelivesorg @wikidata @pkmarmor The Help:Sources page has this, on how a wikidata statement can reference a database
wikidata.org/wiki/Help:Sour…
though I would tend to use "named as" instead of "title" for how it appears there, also I would tend to give /either/ the database name /or/ its identifier prop, not both
@Marinelivesorg @wikidata @pkmarmor Umbrella page wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:… doesn't appear to have heard of datasets, or their wikiproject
@Marinelivesorg @wikidata @pkmarmor A notable weakness in the style-guide from WikiProject datasets is that it doesn't seem to answer your original Q including who created it (wikidata.org/wiki/Property:… "creator", probably; maybe wikidata.org/wiki/Property:… "collection creator")
@Marinelivesorg @wikidata @pkmarmor nor who is curating / maintaining it (wikidata.org/wiki/Property:… "maintained by", probably)
@Marinelivesorg @wikidata @pkmarmor Also it would be nice if the style-guide identified some items that were good examples of modelling of datasets ('showcase items')... or even if it made sure the properties table used examples that actually were datasets.
@Marinelivesorg @wikidata @pkmarmor Looking at the dataset item in Reasonator reasonator.toolforge.org/?q=Q1172284&la… one can scroll down to the "from related items" box, and find some items that consider themselves to be "instance of" or "subclass of" dataset
@Marinelivesorg @wikidata @pkmarmor Closer to home, one could also look at wikidata.org/wiki/Q105548625 and its relation to wikidata.org/wiki/Q105547906 (given as "operator", P137) /end

@DavidHaskiya I tagged you into phabricator.wikimedia.org/T275286 because of the WikiCommons + IIIF angle, but now I see from your twitter bio you're no longer with WM-SE any more.

Is there somebody else now working on the IIIF+GLAM scoping / requirements / facilitation brief ?
There's a meet-up tomorrow (Mon 1pm London / 2pm NL) between Bert Spaan (allmaps.org) and @viaeregiae, re crowd data-capturing maps and putting them into his IIIF toolchain as I was talking about in the phab -- poss v interesting for a WMF IIIF+GLAM team observer ?
