PERSONNEL DISCIPLINE AND PROFESSIONALISM KEY TO NATIONAL SECURITY, SAYS IGP
- AS NPF, PSC STRENGTHEN TIES, HOLD RETREAT IN ABUJA
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni, has re-affirmed the commitment of the Force to enhancing internal discipline and professionalism among its workforce, noting that personnel discipline and professionalism are key to national security.
The IGP made this known, today 23rd February, 2021 at the Force Headquarters, Abuja during the opening of a one-day Retreat organized by the Force in collaboration with the Police Service Commission (PSC), for Members of the Police Management Team.
The retreat, the IGP further noted, provided an ample opportunity for the Leadership of the Force to, amongst other things, engage and strengthen the bond between the Nigeria Police and the Police Service Commission as part of efforts directed at addressing ...

The IGP also noted that a resilient Police Institution and a strong Police Service Commission, bonded together by the overriding interest of our internal security, will evolve from the Retreat.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Honourable Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), who was at the Force Headquarters on a working visit during the Opening of the Retreat, gave his goodwill message at the program.
He called for sustained and harmonious working relationship between the Nigeria Police and the Police Service Commission which he notes can translate to effective and beneficial outcomes.
He assured that the Ministry of Justice is open to assist with any role that can help advance the efficient service delivery of the Police.
Also, in attendance at the Retreat were, the Honourable Commissioners of the PSC, the Permanent Secretary of the Commission, members of the Force Management Team and other Key Staff Officers of the Force and the PSC.

The Police in Abia State Command successfully neutralised 4 attackers, arrested 8 persons and recovered arms and ammunition from hoodlums who carried out an unprovoked attack on Abayi Police Station, Aba in Osisioma Ngwa LGA of Abia State in the early hours of 23rd February, 2021
It is worth noting that the hoodlums numbering about two hundred persons, armed with AK47 rifles and matchetes invaded the station and set part of it ablaze with the aid of petrol bombs and other explosives.

The newly promoted Deputy Inspectors General of Police, DIG Tijani Baba, DIG Zanna Mohammed Ibrahim, mni and DIG Moses A. Jitoboh, mni were today at the Force Headquarters, Abuja decorated with their new ranks.
Their promotion and subsequent decoration became necessary following the retirement of erstwhile DIGs from their respective geo-political zones. The elevation of the Senior Officers is in acting capacity.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has assured the nation that the Force is irrevocably committed to the safe rescue of all abductees in the recent attack on Government Science College, Kagara in Rafi LGA of Niger State and other related incidents.
The IGP notes that a joint massive search and rescue mission involving the Police, the Military and other law enforcement agencies is ongoing to ensure that all abducted persons are rescued unhurt and reunited with their families.
