Update On The JobSeeker Initiative
We got 6 additional donors who contributed a total sum of N221,750 today. This is inclusive of the N100,000 donated by my friend who stated it was for those who just got a job and need some amount as fare till they receive their first paycheck.
We got 6 additional donors who contributed a total sum of N221,750 today. This is inclusive of the N100,000 donated by my friend who stated it was for those who just got a job and need some amount as fare till they receive their first paycheck.
Out of this N100,000 for new employees, N80,000 was disbursed to 11 people. They were all verified based on the criteria set out. Consequently, that particular fund has a balance of N20,000.
An additional 5 people got funds for either transport or data from the other fund for jobseekers who have Interviews. Total disbursed under this category was N20,000.
In all, 16 people got a total of N100,000 today. We still have funds for those who have Interviews and need funds for either transport or data. We also have a little amount left for those who just got a job but need assistance with fare before their first paycheck.
I am grateful to all the donors. In total, since this JobSeeker Initiative kicked off inadvertently on Monday, we have had 20 donors contribute a total of N383,750. We have disbursed N145,700 to 30 beneficiaries.
The humbling thing for me is that out of the 20 donors, I only know 4 people one-on-one. The remaining 16 are people I met here on social media (Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn). I sincerely appreciate this trust. I do not take it for granted.
