Last summer, they revealed how Facebook employees were beginning to reckon with the real-world consequences of the social network they had built

Craig and Ryan’s reporting also laid bare Facebook’s role leading up to the violence in Kenosha, where two people were killed by a militia member.

Their work also touched on Facebook’s actions surrounding the 2020 election. They reported that traffic was cut to leading liberal pages weeks before November 3.

The reporting continued on after the election. As Trump made false claims about the election results, Ryan and Craig revealed that Facebook knew the warning labels it put on his posts did little to stop their spread.
