So Assigned Male author Sophie Labelle has been caught as an ageplaying furry, which normally I wouldn't give a shit about had she not based her entire career off of making comics for children, lecturing children, getting fired from teaching children for unknown reasons, but...

... the biggest problem here is that she appears to trace (or at least heavily reference) photos of actual children for her fetish art, something that in the U.S. could count as actual CP. She can be a babyfur on her own time, I don't care. But don't trace real kids.

I realize that a lot of trans people, including trans ageplayers, will want to defend her, but she puts herself, physically, in spaces with trans and GNC kids. She makes kids books, coloring books, a comic made for kids about trans issues.

I've followed her online activity for years and the way she fixates on children's genitals is creepy. It doesn't come across as matter-of-fact. And I'm sorry, those trans kids don't need to be mentored by somebody who traces actual toddlers for their fetish fuel.

Sophie Labelle is also just a huge asshole who spends more money donated to her on expensive trips abroad than for the gender-affirming procedures she claims its for. She doesn't care about you. You are a potential source of income. You don't need to defend her.

Nobody knows the exact details as to why she was fired from teaching children. Rumors say that she was acting inappropriate. Her comics often ride the line of being inappropriate for her intended audience. Trans youth, any youth, are vulnerable. We need to protect them.

And when I say "acting inappropriate" I'm talking "posts from parents who said that she was openly flirting with tweens in front of them."

I can't say how reliable these are but Labelle herself talks about having been fired from teaching. She chalks it up to prejudice.

Just leave her alone. Don't defend her, don't give her money. Don't take your kids to her lectures. I don't care what she's into as far as kinks go. But maybe... don't make a career centered around kids if you're into the idea of them in diapers. Is that too much to ask?

You guys hear the story about Sophie going to a high school and charging the school for a taxi drive when she lived only a few miles away? That's a good one.

She also asked for like $300 for a completely unrehearsed, unorganized lecture where she was belligerent to school staff. On top of charging them for the cab. She could have easily ridden her bike, which she talks about riding all the time. But apparently not.

It's a minor anecdote, but reading Sophie's comics, this sort of selfish pettiness bleeds into her work, as just about every character acts like the entire world has to revolve around them while preaching about the importance of empathy, which they lack for others.

I don't really feel like digging them up, but I remembered Sophie's multiple comics about her adult "boyfriend" she had at 13. She was groomed. She looks back on the relationship with fondness. Never any acknowledgement as to what happened to her being wrong. WTF.

She uploaded these comics to her main site, a site meant specifically as a RESOURCE FOR TRANS KIDS AND THEIR PARENTS. She did one book signing for a children's book at a sex shop. FFS she's an adult that wears overalls, we should have seen her being a babyfur coming.
