The Oath Keepers tried to set up "quick reaction forces" stationed outside DC on 1/6 who would have "guns and weapons at the ready," a prosecutor said.
Because of the sensitive nature of the investigation, the judge has now closed the hearing to the public.

The Oath Keepers made "substantial efforts" to set up a heavily armed strike force outside DC, ready to swoop in, a prosecutor said.
"There were substantial efforts to make that a reality — to have guns and weapons available, at the ready, for people like Jessica Watkins."
Jessica Watkins, one of the Oath Keepers, was at the Capitol to help maintain "law and order," her defense lawyer said.
"After Jan 6, she referred to the fact that they were there to help with law and order."
The judge was skeptical, saying the evidence contradicts this.
Jessica Watkins briefly addressed the judge, saying she's now "appalled" by the Oath Keepers.
"We're done with that lifestyle," she said of herself and her boyfriend. "I did it out of love for my country but it's time to let all that go."
Jessica Watkins has lost her bid to get released from custody.
The judge seemed alarmed by the alleged plot to have heavily armed forces outside DC on 1/6. We still know very little about that because of it was mostly discussed in a private room.
Now two lonely Republicans have voted to strip Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick has joined Rep. Adam Kinzinger in voting yes.
Oddly, Rep. Newhouse (R-WA) switched from "yes" to "no" so deleted earlier tweet.
At the buzzer, a little wave of Republicans voted to remove Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene from her committees. We're now at 11 of them, with just a few votes left to be cast.
The U.S. Secret Service has "met extensively" with Lin Wood about his comments, including the tweet where he called for Pence to be executed, he said on a Mercer University School of Law conference call. I've listened to the audio.
Lin Wood joined a call about whether Mercer University should rename a courtroom bearing his name. The law school's dean, not realizing Wood was on the call, spoke very candidly and said she's worried about his "violent" tweets. He got upset at her, and a student. Some excerpts:
Here's Lin Wood fighting with a law student over whether a courtroom should still named after him. It's really something.
Breaking: The National Rifle Association says it has filed a petition for bankruptcy
The NRA says it'll restructure and continue as a Texas nonprofit. "To facilitate its strategic plan and restructuring, the NRA and one of its subsidiaries filed voluntary chapter 11 petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas," the NRA said.
NRA press release here. The group says there will be no immediate changes to its operations, and that it "will propose a plan that provides for payment in full of all valid creditors’ claims." nraforward.org/press-release
Wow: "This lawsuit smacks of racism," a Wisconsin judge just said to Trump's lawyer. She says Trump targeted two counties for litigation "because of their diverse populations, because they are urban, and because they vote Democratic."
Judge Jill Karofsky: "In your lawsuit what you have done here is target the vote of 250,000 pple — not statewide, but in two of our 72 counties that have diverse populations, because they are urban, and because they vote Democratic. This lawsuit, Mr. Troupis, smacks of racism."
"This not normal," the justice continued. "It is not normal for us to be sitting here 48 hours before the Electoral College sits. It is not normal for only two out of 72 counties to be at risk of losing their voice in this election."
Wait a sec, Lin Wood just filed an amicus brief that asks SCOTUS to grant his attached cert petition !!??
An amicus brief is for saying "I'm not a party to this case but I'll explain why you should take it."
Lin Wood tacked on a request for the justices to hear his separate case. That's not a thing. Unless he's playing 3D chess and we've all been doing it wrong...
