Anyway, the adaptation of Arknights's gameplay into an event in roguelike format is surprisingly addictive.
Combining random events, item mutations, squad modifiers, and heavy elements of chance creates so many variables that games rarely feel similar.
It also gives players HUGE incentive to level up their low rarity operators, because not only are their deployment costs low, but they're very likely your main choice because squad acquisition is both random, and resource-dependent making them essential early game.
Unfortunately because there are so many variables in play, you'd have to be really flexible with the management and deployment of operators and resources, because even just a bit of bad luck will completely throw your playthrough off. Which I suppose is very roguelike in essence.
My brain is sadly too weak and small to be flexible enough to save myself from bad rolls/luck so I've literally spent well over a dozen hours in the last few days figuring things out and hoping for the stars to align.
