so we were drinking last night and in trying to explain essential dignity, specifically planets in detriment and fall, my friend asked this question:
“so why wouldn’t someone with all planets in their own house (sign of rulership) be the best happiest person ever?” /1

i wound up using this construction to explain:
“imagine you (the owner of the birth chart) are the landlord of the building all these planets live in. their apartments are furnished and appointed Just So, exactly as they like, with exactly the things they want within them.” /2

“each planet has *everything* they want and need. all of them. *which means* they have absolutely *no need or compulsion* to give a shit about anyone else in the building! because they’re fully resourced in their own place. (full Nah, I’m Good Bro energy.) *which means*-“ /3

“-that you as the landlord have *a fucking hard time* getting them to compromise with each other *precisely because they don’t need to*! they’re the King/Queen/Ruler of their own castle within your building - “No but *I* do things Like This! Why should *I* change?” /4

conversely, a planet in detriment has essentially walked into a fully furnished apartment that has exactly everything they *wouldn’t* choose in it. mars walks into the ♉️ apartment like “no but why is everything soft”. venus walks into the ♈️ apartment like “hot and stabby?! WHY”

but they *begrudgingly* get on with things and learn to live with what they have, “ugh FINE. at least i HAVE things 🙄”
planets in fall though? everything in the apartment is set up to FUCK with them. so it becomes a mission to outwit the apartment + WIN bc FUCK U THAT’S WHY🤣 /6

anyway TLDR:
1) having all domicile planets IS NOT A RECIPE FOR SUCCESS.
2) having detriment or fallen planets DOES NOT RESIGN YOU TO SADNESS +/or FAILURE. (mostly it gives you substantial grit + makes you very creative with what you’ve got, actually) 🔥👊🏻🔥

trip lords would be from the same friendship group bc they share a background or some fundamental qualities with certain “planetary tenants”, which is why they’re buds, but they’re not a BESTEST BEST PAL 👀

term rulers would be a planet that *at least* has the comfort of a v specific role to which they are suited *whichever* apartment they are found in in the building 🥲 eg. moon in cap might be like “i have NONE of my own utensils here but at least i can make some kind of food?!🥲”

then there’s decans.
if you use decans by *triplicity* this level of dignity would either be pals similar to trip lords but at a lower level of acquaintance OR someone generally “on the side of”/similar to (same interests or personality type ISH as) the planet (by element + sect)

if you use chaldean decans it would be a little different. decans are the “weakest” dignity, so maybe the tenant planet met the decan lord somewhere once and they hit it off enough to have ended up as friends on instagram or with their # in each other’s phones 🤣 -

they don’t get to move in, or even come round regularly, but they’d get waved at on the street if the planet saw them, or even just get the occasional (lurker) like on their social media posts 😅

RIGHT. the experiences necessary to create understanding of + empathy for struggle + difficulty are just lacking bc the planet already has everything they need. it’s comfortable so why branch out??? until sth confronts them directly, there’s no impetus for change or growth 🤷🏻‍♀️-
