"Huh? Well...yeah." Nanako was surprised to hear Langa actually admit out loud that he likes someone. More than that though, she's happy that he's able to come to her for these kinds of things.
She imagines that if Oliver had still been here, he would have come to him instead for his love troubles. And that's even more the reason why she has to handle this... delicately.
"Why don't you honestly relay your emotions?"
"No way, that's too embarrassing." Well, she can't blame his son for that. Anyone would be embarrassed to confess to their crush. However...
"You have to act on it if you really care about her!" Yep. That's great advice. It's probably what Oliver would say in this situation. She pats herself in the back for doing amazing at this Mom thing-
"Her?"
"Huh?" Did she say something wrong?
They *were* talking about love, right? She was pretty sure his son was having *love troubles* with his crush...right? So why is he so confused-
Oh.
OH.
Holy shit.
Oliver. Help.
They sat still for a few seconds as the realization of what just transpired dawned on her.
This is not good, she has to say something to her son - Her son that's having love troubles with a person that's apparently NOT a "her". Okay. Okay! So, their son is gay. How would Oliver handle this? What would he say if he knew?
No... Oliver is no longer here. She is. What would she say to her son that just... came out, was it? How does *she* feel about this revelation? Is Langa any different now that she knows he's gay? No, he's not. And so is her love for him.
"Mom, I..."
"Introduce him to me once you resolved things, alright?" Nanako says with a smile.
No one knows how Reki somehow managed to get the transfer student hooked in skateboarding as soon as they met, but everybody knows that they have been attached to the hip since then. (2/16)
Which is why when Langa greeted Reki with a Good Morning one day and he didn't even bother to look back, everyone knew that something between them happened. Something bad. Something wrong. (3/16)
