I’m glad some of my former colleagues in Congress are speaking out against the recent unconstitutional airstrikes in Syria—but they’re ignoring the bigger issue: the regime change war the US continues to wage in Syria using al-Qaeda/al-Nusra/HTS terrorists as our proxy...
...ground force, who now occupy and control the city of Idlib, imposing Sharia Law and "cleansing" the area of most Christians & religious minorities. The Biden Administration continues to use the US military to illegally occupy NE Syria to "take the oil" as Trump so crassly...
...but honestly put it, violating international law. A modern-day siege of draconian embargo/sanctions similar to what the Saudi-US alliance employed in Yemen is causing death & suffering for millions of innocent Syrians...
...depriving them of food, medicine, clean water, energy & warmth, and making it impossible for the Syrian people to try to rebuild their war-torn country.

Like so many, the 9/11 attack on our country by al-Qaeda changed my life forever. It was my motivation to serve our country in uniform & led to my conviction that the ideology fueling al-Qaeda, ISIS & other jihadists is the greatest threat to our country, our values & freedoms.(1
It is my determination to never forget who the enemy is that has guided my policy positions regarding the regime change wars in Iraq, Libya and Syria.

Unfortunately, too many of our leaders & MSM have long forgotten who attacked us on 9/11, forgotten who the enemy is, and (2)
they would like us to forget as well. Long forgotten is President Bush’s declaration to the world that “you’re either with us or against us” (in the war against al-Qaeda and Islamist terrorists). (3)

For the confused:
1) We should get our troops out of Syria ASAP in a responsible way
2) It’s up to the Kurds/Syria to either fight for or surrender ...
... their territory to Turkey. No part of Syria belongs to the U.S. So Trump does not have the right or power to "give" away a piece of Syria (Kurdish homeland) to Turkey. You can’t give away what doesn’t belong to you.

@realdonaldtrump isn't removing our troops from Syria. He's just moving them from the northern Syrian border, allowing Turkey to invade Syria & slaughter the Kurds. Trump lied to the Kurds, promising them our support while simultaneously preventing them ... (1/5)
... from reconciling with the Syrian government and coordinating a common defense against Turkish invasion. The impending slaughter & ethnic cleansing of the Syrian by Turkey is happening because Trump refuses to end our efforts to overthrow the Syrian government. (2/5)
The Kurds are just another casualty of this regime change war which is supported by war-mongering Republicans, Democrats, and corporate media. (3/5)
