I'm angered to find out that Alex Kidwell, the man who sexually assaulted four women at an event I hosted in 2017, has been granted the platform of a podcast on @JonnyFairplay's network. I not only witnessed these assaults - I personally intervened to stop him.
I believe in forgiveness and redemption. But I also believe in consequences. I believe that for sexually assaulting members of the Big Brother/Survivor fan community Alex Kidwell should face the consequence of losing his microphone. For good.
@JonnyFairplay by giving Alex Kidwell this platform you diminish the severity of his sexual assaults. You send the message to his victims, your audience, your sponsors, and your own daughters that sexual assault is less important than downloads or clicks.
On the subject of forgiveness: it's not up to me or you or Jonny or Brent to give Alex Kidwell forgiveness for sexually assaulting multiple women. It's up to the women he assaulted. They get to decide if and when they're ready to grant him forgiveness.
I know very little about the circumstances that brought @OneLuckyGay to your network. From everything I've heard he fits the NSFW brand to a T and will make a great addition. But how does someone who sexually assaulted members of the fan community fit that brand?
@JonnyFairplay imagine if it had been Piper. Imagine how you'd feel if the man who assaulted her was gearing up to take a prominent public position in her community. How would you feel if someone told you that it was ok because they believed in forgiveness and second chances?
Alex's second chance is that charges weren't filed. Alex's second chance is that I exercised physical restraint when I pulled him off the woman I was dating at the time. And another woman later that night. That he wasn't arrested. Charged. Put on a registry.
Beyond that, Alex Kidwell needs to be grateful that the only consequence he has faced for sexually assaulting four women on a night in 2017 is that he can no longer host a podcast about a reality TV show.
My own podcast, All the Fixins, ended as a result of Alex Kidwell's sexual assault of four of my listeners. His actions were the source of traumas that literally ripped our community to shreds.
TL;DR version: Alex Kidwell, co-host of @OneLuckyGay's new Big Brother show on @JonnyFairplay's NSFW podcasting network sexually assaulted multiple women in the Survivor/Big Brother fan community. @arisacox @DaltonRoss @stevehelling @realityblurred
This is messed up. Fairplay is now selling a tee shirt I guess so you can join him in showing your support for sexual assault?
TW: sexual assault

This is an excerpt of an email sent to Alex Kidwell by one of the women he sexually assaulted. It is being shared with her permission.

Jonny Fairplay is aware of this information and still hired Alex Kidwell to podcast on his network.
Today was an awful day. As a community we can and must do better. I just donated $500 to RAINN to support survivors of sexual violence. I ask @JonnyFairplay to match my donation. And I encourage all of you to donate as well. donate.rainn.org
