Interactive components provide so many new possibilities. It's like sending Figma variants into hyperspace. 🚀🌟Combining existing @figmadesign features proven to be extremely fun. Here a lil thread: 👇🧵
🎞️I imported a 3D render from Blender using a mix of static images and GIFs. The animation uses Click and After Delay triggers. Then, I added copies of the GIF layers (at 0% opacity) inside the first variant frame to preload the assets and avoid glitches on the final prototype.
🤖 From loops, to cloned layers, clipped shapes, and custom easing curves. I used all of these techniques to achieve the animations on the FUI components.
🅰️ Animating interactive components has the same vibe as building 2D animations for the web. Perhaps one day, the Figma team will add support for 3D transforms, Timelines, scroll events, videos, maybe code embeds... 😋🆕🆕🆕
📦 Figma's Interactive Components favor composition and modularity. The full animation lives in just ONE frame.😱 Definitely a step in the right direction. Avoiding countless duplicates brings back elegance, simplicity and sophistication in the design workflow. #DRY#KISS
