I’m back. So how potentially serendipitous is this? Thanks to this med I will be on for life, I am now a chronic “dry mouth” (Xerostomia) sufferer (which can destroys teeth and sleep). Today I learned that one of my doctors has spent the last 2 years patenting a …
prototype device that solves the very problem. What are the odds? I mean, to paraphrase Rick, “Of all the doctors in all the towns in all the world, and I walk into his.”

Like many inventors, he’s so close to it, he’s focused on the details of making the product …
work perfectly, and not on the bigger production and marketing picture. Millions need his invention, but they will never afford the current $2500 price tag. It needs to be more like $500. I thought of 3 ways to slash his costs in one 20 minute discussion. A top …
design firm and/or manufacturer could knock this out in 6 months and have a billion dollar product. So I cut a deal with him on the spot to see if I can find one for him and make this thing go global. If you have contacts to any big medical device makers I can pitch, …
I’ll share the wealth. DM me. #invention
As so many inventors do, he INSISTED that they’ve done all they could do to cut costs. I said to him, “except the most important step.”

“What’s that?” he asked.

“Thinking like the guy who is going improve it, slash the costs, and make the really big money.”

@RadioFreeTom @DanShenise @stuartpstevens Again, that’s isn’t his or my point. It’s not to blame them for everything since the 1960s. It’s for them to at least admit they were less than honest and forthright about their policy goals and prescriptions. What was all about deconstructing the New Deal was …
@RadioFreeTom @DanShenise @stuartpstevens posited as an existential war against communism, and it’s dreaded step-sister, socialism. How much of our national debate was wasted on that cynical, often vapid rubbish that served the GOP’s ends until abortion, Obamacare, Islamic extremism (and now Antifa) came …
@RadioFreeTom @DanShenise @stuartpstevens along. Most people can tell you what a dirty commie looks like. I still don’t know what an Antifa is. It’s just the same weak sauce bottled for a new generation. That’s what has to end. The sheer dishonesty of right wing ideology masquerading as sincere policy …

@RadioFreeTom @DanShenise @stuartpstevens I don’t think the goal is to make anyone repent. They wouldn’t anyway. The goal is to get some of you to finally agree that this now-obvious (to all of us) GOP mendacity has shaped our politics for more than just the Trump era. We can stop the inquiry at Newt, Stone, …
@RadioFreeTom @DanShenise @stuartpstevens and Atwater and never run out of anecdotal evidence that we got to this horrible place, largely by a willful malfeasance, grift, and dishonesty among oligarchs, their operatives, and an acquiescent press. But now we’re here. We are where we are. I think honest …
@RadioFreeTom @DanShenise @stuartpstevens discussions like this are much closer to what we should all be doing, than this brick bats so many enjoy hurling at each other. I just wish we could find a place to have and contextualize them better so most people don’t feel left out of a debate that only a very few …

But your friends @StuartPStevens and @maxboot have both written books about that very con. And @KBAndersen just spent a lot of time detailing how it all worked for us. Yet you wave all that history away with a highly questionable assertion that dismisses a lot …
@stuartpstevens @MaxBoot @KBAndersen emerging acceptance that much of that dogma was always a long-game manipulation of society, rarely data or fact-driven, and which relied on a complicit GOP and media working very hard to further the agendas of aggressive plutocrats and their dependents. Trump was just …
@stuartpstevens @MaxBoot @KBAndersen a logical extension of their hegemony that has shaped us since long before Newt Gingrich made devolving Congress into an industry. I know you don’t deny those things were real and damaging. But what Nicolle was getting at is that it’s time to admit that many of the …

@RadioFreeTom A second component of is thesis is that a media club (of which you are a member) bestows voice on mostly Republicans (for recently ex-Republicans). Add-up the time given these people (and you) compared to virtually anyone else on MSNBC. They are at least 75% of the …
@RadioFreeTom airtime and 90% of the prevailing narratives. What accounts for that focus on people who were substantially wrong for decades about Republicans, conservatives, War, and America, being now the people we are forced to listen to almost all the time on MSNBC, CNN or NPR …
@RadioFreeTom if we are to have any news analysis at all from “mainstream pundits.” Who makes these decisions, and why, Driftglass asks? Surely it’s not because there is demand for “monochrome media.” Someone is CHOOSING to offer these narratives every single day. And we are all …

@RadioFreeTom But trite is another word word for cliche, which is another word for so common it’s now accepted as routine. Isn’t that just another way of saying it’s true? Remember, you spent years claiming it was banal to say FoxNews was the problem, only to later admit, …
@RadioFreeTom grudgingly, that it was. His thesis is that history largely begins in 2015 for most Republicans who deny the ubiquity of the behavior going back decades because if they did not, they’d have to admit they’d been wrong about a lot and not many people like doing that. …
@RadioFreeTom And there is more evidence of his being right than wrong almost everywhere. Nicolle Wallace just confirmed everything he’s been saying for 15 years. Debate him sometime. We’d all profit. His knowledge of our political history (and Republican denial) is unmatched by …

I thought the same. It was a funny joke. It’s an appalling idea for a business, and will probably backfire and save #MyPillow by inspiring sympathy buying in the Right.
Much of Left is so celebrity obsessed, they’ll just happily nod at this and find novel ways of defending it. It’s what we do. As I keep saying, almost without exception, our activists get co-opted by the media or industry in one way or another. It always saps their power.
Amusing to me that some snark at @deray as someone who “leveraged” BLM, when in fact, he was a key factor for its early success. But rather than build on fame, he & @samswey worked like dogs to build a serious, data-driven Police reform project.
