I’m approaching a year that I’ve been on Twitter. I joined shortly after the lockdown began in my city. I wanted to share an honest assessment and some tips from my personal experience with you - especially for the ones that are new to Twitter. 1/
I’ve found amazing likeminded individuals which I strongly believe have helped to keep me sane throughout this pandemic. It doesn’t matter if you only have 2 friends / followers today, you have the opportunity to change that every second you’re here if you wish 2/
Twitter can be a magical experience. It gives you the opportunity to interact with some amazing people you otherwise may never get the opportunity to. Lots of celebs / blue checks don’t interact, but take my word for it that many do, being respectful and patient is key. 3/
If you remain under 10k followers, you probably should not expect too much Twitter drama, but after that, look out! After 10k you’ll realize that it could feel like high school here. Once that issue hits home, have a solid plan from day one on how you want to address that. 4/
As with everywhere in life, there are really bad apples here too. If you sense something is not right with someone, trust your gut, but don’t publicly accuse without evidence. 5/
Last but not least. Always remember the help you received when learning to navigate Twitter when you started and pay it forward. Nobody forgets when you have helped them out, and everyone truly appreciates it. /6
