Remember when AG Barr said he wouldn’t comment about the Zero Tolerance Initiative that drove the Trump family separation policy because he didn’t know all its details?

Remember when AG Barr was asked what constitutes a high crime and misdemeanor under the Constitution and replied that he had “not studied” the question?

Remember when AG Barr refused to answer if a President could nullify birthright citizenship by executive order, saying he did not have an opinion on the matter?

Remember when AG Barr wouldn’t draw a line regarding the pervasive collection of data on citizens without a warrant?

Remember when AG Barr said he wouldn’t commit to an independent and transparent Office of Legal Counsel until he could review its opinions?

Remember when AG Barr wouldn’t answer when asked if he would commit not to proactively use the DOJ to attack women’s reproductive rights?

Remember when AG Barr refused to say if he agreed with Trump’s “very fine people on both sides” description of the white supremacist demonstrations in Charlottesville?

Republicans holding a double-standard when it comes to a Democratic President’s nominees is a tale as old as time. If they spent less time spinning excuses and more time talking to well-qualified nominees like Judge Garland, our nation would be all the more safe.
