i ordered pants from etsy that were tailor-made to my measurements and...i'm never doing anything else when i need pants again

the thrill of putting something on that was lovingly made and fits perfectly...unbeatable

i know many of you were doing this all along but i had yet to really get into the clothing-made-on-demand thing and now i see the light

btw they have a standalone site as you are all asking about the pants thiefandbandit.com

after i ordered a sewer followed up to say "i know you requested this length, but these look better long, so tell me how you like your pants etc..." it was just so thoughtfully done!

but also it's not just this one place -- custom/handmade clothing is a big movement on etsy and other sites right now and if you search around you can find so many things! i'm DREAMING of one day having a custom piece from this seller, for instance: etsy.com/listing/679770…

i started doing the pomodoro method while writing today bc it was part of my resolution to give it an honest shot and i regret to inform you it really fucking works

my particular formula is 25 on, 5 off, in the 5 you can make tea or check tweets or browse online or put on lip balm or whatever, in the 25 if you do any of these things the floor is lava and you are in big trouble mister

i really have become a tea woman in quar; i love tea, i think about tea all day long, cannot get enough of tea

i always wonder how those women who collect/are given as gifts something related to one thing are born...and now i see it; my mother-in-law gave me tea-themed notecards for xmas and i was like, this is a perfect gift for me, a woman who likes tea. and so it begins

ugh now possessed with writing a mini-series newsletter about tea called "here's the tea"...dammit why does my brain do this

also...was bette born with this voice? making up that you are from another country is bad (and should not be done!) but i wish more people decided just to have a sort of transatlantic miss piggy voice because it was what actors simply DO (pronounced like a very slow "dew")

also halfway through she gets bored and picks up her water glass and fishes out an ice cube to put more ice in her rocks glass...chaotic

lots of new #penpalooza members (I think post NYT shout out) which means lots of new questions, so here are some answers! but you can also find answers at penpalooza.com (we have a FAQ section!)

1) you sign up for your initial pen pal match here: elfster.com/gift-exchanges…

2) it is going to look like a secret santa exchange! it is not! we are just using secret santa software! this leads to some confusion, as in, when you get a match it says you have a gift to send. what that means in this case is you have a letter to send!

3) it looks like it is closed or the deadline to sign up past! this is an elfster glitch! the exchange is very much open (indefinitely at this point!).

4) you get one match in an email (check spam) within 3 days of signing up. this is the person you write to first.
