Was just handed the (presumably) full 49-page legal complaint by the @CLDC
Members of BU leadership and the CLDC stand in front of the mural
Lawyer is going over the events of the infamous Thurston protest where SPD violently arrested members of BU leadership.
Kinaya (sp?) Is now speaking
Claire is speaking now
Tyshawn Ford speaking now
Tyshawn's speech was the end of the prepared statements.
Questions and answers now.
@Lopaka_Shaka is asking whether local journalists footage will be sought.
The lawyer says that they'll be happy to speak with journalists and are incredibly fortunate to have all the footage that they've compiled prior to filing the case.
Another journo, with the @eugeneweekly, asks about the discovery process.
They explained that a separate case allowed for evidence to be shared early. (I believe I heard that right)
They added that they would not rely on bodycam footage.
Black Unity responds to a question about whether they feel especially endangered following the filing.
Tyshawn adds that before they even went to Thurston that SPD already knew who all of the leadership members were.
@CLDC just dropped the bombshell that due to discovery, they KNOW that undercover SPD officers were in the crowd during the Thurston march.
Claire says this adds to their argument: "see, they knew we were peaceful."
Win or lose, Tyshawn says that SPD needs to be defended by at least 50%
The press conference has wrapped up.
Heading over to the protest now.
At the Federal Courthouse now and there are a few dozen people here with more coming by the looks of it.
The crowd of about 50 is getting into the street while BU sets up the sound system.
Claire tells the crowd here about their federal filing
Claire reads some of the SPD bodycam audio that was made available during discovery out loud.
The march begins
Tyshawn Ford leading the chant
S.P.D. spells many things
The crowd is about to arrive at the Lane County Jail
Sike. They stopped in front off to the side.
Folks are honking, clapping, and waving at those flashing their lights and waving back inside the jail.
Just had a car down the street try some aggressive maneuvers towards the bike crew.
Another car just blew right through the bike crew towards the crowd at the intersection.
They got him to stop and then he turned around
The march is resuming
Walking back to the main crowd and there's an EPD drone up above doing the flashy flashy
EPD has made an appearance in the back
The march has arrived back at the Federal Courthouse
There have been several speeches and now a song is going to be played.
I have finished reading, highlighting, and digesting the federal complaint filed against the City of Springfield, the Springfield Police, and individual officers, by the @CLDC on behalf of Black Unity (@Eblack_unity).
There are a handful of people here now gathered around a banner that says "People have the right to resist - stop the sweeps. Two EPD cars are blocking the way towards the sweep.
I had been working on that tweet for a while and many more folks have shown up in that time. I'd say about 30-40 people.
@Eblack_unity will be announcing a federal civil rights lawsuit against the City of Springfield, SPD, the police chief, and other individual officers at the George Floyd & Breonna Taylor mural @ 6 p.m.

Please pardon the weird typo at the end. My laptop and Twitter aren't working well together at the moment and I cannot turn INSERT off and had to rewrite that tweet several times on a separate tab :(
