what he is referring here is ECA amendment 2020

it removes pulses from the list that makes it illegal to stock beyond certain limits.

however, same law mandates if retail prices increase more than 50% over the average of the last five years, the stock limits can be put again.
the amendment has been made to the law of 1955. back in the day we we dependent on imports, now we have enough stock.

allowing stocking of these produces allows for better export planning and more players investing in storage facilities in supply chain (we lack them now)
even harshest critics of farm laws and present govt, praised ECA amendment 2020 and agreed that archaic laws of 1955 were irrelevant today.

the safety-net of restricting stocks if prices rise beyond certain limits has been put to prevent exactly what Delhi CM is saying.

2/ Soon after, actor started facing backlash on social media.

Majority of the backlash came from supporter of separate Tamil Eelam state in srilanka, many of which live in Sri Lanka as well as in India.

1/ meat eaters consume 5x more water than vegetarians. meat industry also wastes a lot of water.

but, save water is only linked with holi!
2/ crime against women is a huge problem.

there are several religious practices that actually oppress women.

but, crime against women posters are designed around Navaratri - a festival that celebrate women.
3/ Christmas and New year are global festivals/events.

pictures of fireworks during these is shared from around the world as "splendid pictures"

air pollution posters are saved only for diwali.

GDP (nominal) - India is FIFTH largest in the world. It was at 10th position in 2014.

Bangladesh is at 39th.
2/ fact number two.

GDP (PPP) - India is THIRD largest. It has maintained this position since 2011.

Bangladesh is at 30th.
3/ fact number three.

GDP per capita - India was at 147th in 2014, now its at 139th, it had reached 126th in 2017.

1/ This is Ramesh Rath, a senior journalist working with OTV, Odisha.

As per Outlook report, He was arrested by 4-5 policemen from his house today.

A senior anchor of OTV, who was witness to the story said, “they did not even allow him to inform his family”
2/ This is being alleged to be part of onslaught by BJD govt in Odisha on OTV news channel. Earlier, a senior staffer from the channel was also grilled for hours.
3/ It is also said that the channel recently broke the story of Naveen Patnaik allegedly faking an aerial survey of flooded districts.
