Google earth has finally updated its satellite imagery for western Tigray and it’s really bad. Satellite imagery shows that many settlements have been razed to the ground, some repeatedly being burned. This will be a thread covering those burnings. H/t @FijianArmadillo

I’m going to be going through these as I find them. Which is a lot. Virtually every settlement I have found has been affected in some form. Will be starting with what @FijianArmadillo found first. I’ll transition to just screenshots after.

The first location is 13.829500711851056, 36.5104337794971. This village along the road was largely razed to the ground by November 22.

Over the next two months, further burning was detected.

The next village is 13.777397150573751, 36.48999694532554. Again, significant signs of damage with multiple buildings totally destroyed.

Next settlement at 13.761000324089292, 36.4876930577348. It’s a small hamlet that was almost entirely razed to the ground.

This is what we have so far. There's several possible malicious actions that haven't been included because the damage looks old from neglect or self-destruction. Labelled them all for you.

Also just an absurd amount of forests being burned. Don't know what that's all about and won't speculate. Could do a whole different thread solely on forests being burnt here.
