Age Discrimination Act of 1975, patients can't be excluded, denied, have services limited, or be discriminated against on the basis of age.

Yet younger people & women are still discriminated against by Drs, NPs, & hospitals when it comes to heart symptoms.

I know 2 women who dropped over dead in the past couple years from Cardiac Arrest, one in her 40s, & another in her 50s, both obviously with rhythym problems. Another woman in her 80s is suffering from vascular dementia because her Dr. never ordered any type of heart testing.

As to young people, I know of two young men in their 20s who had strokes, and both probably had rhythym issues which were ignored. My son has a heart rhythym problem, & only got proper treatment because we refused to take no for an answer.

If an older man walks into an ER & complains of chest pain, he is assured of a heart assessment. Women or young people, not so much. It's very common for Drs to demand a drug screen from a young patient. They have to prove they don't do drugs. That doesn't happen to older men.
