NIA along with local police units today conducted simultaneous searches at 11 locations including 8 in Kannur, Mallapuram, Kollam & Kasargod districts of Kerala, 2 in Bengaluru and one in Delhi in case pertaining to terrorist activities of group led by Abu Yahya r/o Kerala.
This group had been running various ISIS propaganda channels on social media platforms such as Telegram, Hoop and Instagram for propagating violent Jihadi ideology of ISIS and radicalizing and recruiting new members to this ISIS module.  NIA had registered the case on 05.03.2021.
The group of radicalized individuals under leadership of Mohammed Ameen @ Abu Yahya owning allegiance to ISIS had identified certain individuals in Kerala and Karnataka for targeted killing. They also planned Hijrat (religious migration) to J&K for engaging in terrorist acts.
Mohammed Ameen had travelled to J&K immediately after his return to India from Bahrain in March, 2020 and had been camping in Delhi for last two months for establishing connection with J&K based operatives having allegiance to ISIS.
Searches were conducted at premises of Abu Yahya and his associates. Recoveries include several laptops, mobiles, hard disk drives, pen drives, multiple SIM cards of different service providers and incriminating documents
Seized exhibits are being scrutinized and will be sent for forensic examination, said NIA. Searches today were preceded by extensive verification jointly by NIA,  Special Cell, Delhi Police and ATS, Kerala Police.

EC action on Nandigram incident:
1. Removal of Vivek Sahay IPS, from post of Director Security. He shall be placed under suspension immediately. The charges must be framed against him within a week for grossly failing in discharge of his primary duty to protect the Z+ protectee.

Taking serious view of laxity by parties/candidates in adhering to EC guidelines on social distancing in public meetings for Bihar poll and other bypolls, EC reiterates need to keep crowd discipline and advises parties to demonstrate utmost care and vigil during electioneering

NIA: Documents pointed to mobilisation against govt by Maoist cadres, info about movement of security forces with an intention to cause heavy damage to the State. Discreet codes were used for secret communication to avoid detection by forces regarding their conspiracy & planning
