NIA along with local police units today conducted simultaneous searches at 11 locations including 8 in Kannur, Mallapuram, Kollam & Kasargod districts of Kerala, 2 in Bengaluru and one in Delhi in case pertaining to terrorist activities of group led by Abu Yahya r/o Kerala.
This group had been running various ISIS propaganda channels on social media platforms such as Telegram, Hoop and Instagram for propagating violent Jihadi ideology of ISIS and radicalizing and recruiting new members to this ISIS module.  NIA had registered the case on 05.03.2021.
The group of radicalized individuals under leadership of Mohammed Ameen @ Abu Yahya owning allegiance to ISIS had identified certain individuals in Kerala and Karnataka for targeted killing. They also planned Hijrat (religious migration) to J&K for engaging in terrorist acts.
Mohammed Ameen had travelled to J&K immediately after his return to India from Bahrain in March, 2020 and had been camping in Delhi for last two months for establishing connection with J&K based operatives having allegiance to ISIS.
Searches were conducted at premises of Abu Yahya and his associates. Recoveries include several laptops, mobiles, hard disk drives, pen drives, multiple SIM cards of different service providers and incriminating documents
Seized exhibits are being scrutinized and will be sent for forensic examination, said NIA. Searches today were preceded by extensive verification jointly by NIA,  Special Cell, Delhi Police and ATS, Kerala Police.

EC action on Nandigram incident:
1. Removal of Vivek Sahay IPS, from post of Director Security. He shall be placed under suspension immediately. The charges must be framed against him within a week for grossly failing in discharge of his primary duty to protect the Z+ protectee.
2. Chief Secretary, in consultation with DGP, is authorised to post suitable Director Security immediately following the extant procedure. Posting order may be communicated to the Commission latest by 1300 hours on 15th March 2021.
3. Smita Pandey IAS: 2005 be posted immediately as DM and DEO, Purba Medinipur in place of Mr Vibhu Goel IAS who shall be in a non-election post. Pravin Prakash, IPS, SP Purba Medinipur shall also be placed under suspension & charges framed against him for major bandobast failure

BIG BREAKING: EC sends a stern response to allegations made by TMC against the Commission in its representation to Bengal CEO regarding injuries to Mamata Banerjee. Says it looks undignified to even respond to allegations of all this being done at behest of a particular party
EC says that while 'the unfortunate incident needs to be inquired into with promptitude and dispatch", it is completely incorrect to state that EC has taken over law and order machinery in the name of conducting elections and appropriated the whole governance structure

BREAKING: EC issues notice to Kamal Nath over his 'item' remark against Madhya Pradesh minister Imarti Devi. Seeks his response within 48 hours of receipt of notice
EC notice points to model code of conduct provision that states that "parties and candidates shall refrain from criticism of all aspects of private life, not connected with public activities of the leaders or workers of the parties"

Taking serious view of laxity by parties/candidates in adhering to EC guidelines on social distancing in public meetings for Bihar poll and other bypolls, EC reiterates need to keep crowd discipline and advises parties to demonstrate utmost care and vigil during electioneering
EC: Instances of such public meetings have come to notice of the Commission, where large number of crowds have assembled in utter violation of social distancing and the political leaders/campaigners are addressing the gathering without wearing masks...contd
"By doing so, the political parties and candidates are not only flouting the guidelines of the Commission with impunity, but exposing themselves as well as the public attending the rallies/meetings to the danger of infection during the pandemic"

NIA: Incriminating documents recovered from the accused include their discreet communications with other Maoist cadres regarding conspiracy related to violent incident of Bhima Koregaon as a part of their well chalked-out strategy.
NIA: Documents pointed to mobilisation against govt by Maoist cadres, info about movement of security forces with an intention to cause heavy damage to the State. Discreet codes were used for secret communication to avoid detection by forces regarding their conspiracy & planning
