4/18 @carlitopablo published the first bit.ly/3bKQgpx and only English piece as far as I know, at @Cann_Central giving the Mazatec a voice through Inti Gracía Flores @tlalocan78. Rest of the media is still silencing indigenous voices and concerns. Does not baffle me.
5/18 I engaged in conversation with @calyxlaw, patent specialist dedicated to cannabis and psychedelics, which were fruitful even if it superficially may appear we might be on opposite sides (let me remember you all, just in case: the world is round and there are no sides).
6/18 @COMPASSPathway seems to believe - or pretend - they just invented psychedelic therapy and deserve a patent including soft furniture and holding hands, despite prior art from the 1950’s bit.ly/3esSN9u
7/18 Joseph Tucker, CEO of @MagicMedInd claimed their strategy is “to own as much as possible in this space”. Don’t get them wrong. “As much as possible” = 125 MILLION molecules. Don’t miss the 5 min greedy show as it is still available on youtube bit.ly/2OZRJ2s
8/18 So apparently the psychedelic industry is doing the opposite of my wish.
14/18 My dear friend and long time supporter @RickDoblin of @MAPS issued some warnings as to the downsides of this privatisation trend. This pic is my favourite part of his series.
18/18 My conclusion thus far: unethical developments going on, too many folks still silent, and not enough media attention to indigenous issues. Patents get harder to fight back very quickly, so we have a critical opportunity #NOW. @tferriss@calyxlaw@RickDoblin@Drug_Science
